8. "Set Fire To The Rain," Adele (2011)
Back in 2012, I included Adele's "Set Fire To The Rain" in my list of 100 Favorite Songs of All Time. The post contained a glaring typographical error:
Notice I list it as "Setting Fire To The Rain,' a regrettable faux pas, especially considering the correct title of the song is in the accompanying picture. This was pointed out to me by my friend and fellow blog and music enthusiast Steve Lewis after what I assume was a cataclysmic fit of grammar rage.
I thought I corrected the typo, but I did not. So, this error has been there for seven years. Until now.
This does, however, raise another issue. "Set Fire To The Rain" ranked 48th on my all-time favorites and was the highest ranking song of this decade on that list at the time except for a cover of the Rolling Stones' "Sweet Virginia" by Everest. Seven other songs from the 2010s are ranked higher than "Set Fire To The Rain" on this list and "Sweet Virginia" isn't on it. If I were to compose an updated list of 100 all-time favorites would either song still make the cut? If so, where?
Researching this post makes me miss my old blog.
