Kilroy Owns the Night: Day 13 (Invisible)

Mercury Quasar was possibly the hottest humanoid I’d ever encountered. She was a little shorter than me, with the lean, athletic build of someone who spent more time in the gym last week than I have my entire life. Her leather jacket had seen better days. I imagined so had the people who'd tried to take it from her. Mercury had the kind of smile that made you wonder whether she wanted to kiss you or break your nose. I was prepared to accept either outcome.
She sat in the passenger seat of the van polishing a beat up laser blaster. Toughness poured off this chick like a chocolate fondue fountain at a Golden Corral Buffet. I could practically see the invisible aura of badassery surrounding her. She ate the Plorps bar like she had nothing better to do.
“My mom always told me not to get in a car with a stranger,” I said in my smoothest voice. All I got was a silent, blank stare and chewing.
“You say you’re a private contractor?” I ask, changing the subject. “What’s that all about?”
“You’re from Earth, right?” she asked and I nodded. “You know the song ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’?”
“Yep.”
“That’s what I do.” She said all this while still polishing her laser blaster. “What about you? What’s your deal?”
“Me? I own the night?”
“You what?” She stopped polishing. “You own the night?”
“That’s right.”
“You got a receipt?”
Oh, yeah. She was hot alright.
